Trío (2024) is a bilingual collection of poetry and short fiction by Fer Boyd, Madeleine Stack, and Rebecca Close published by Canal. These works, first published in English in the authors' respective 2022 Canal collections, were newly translated into Spanish for Trío. Two short stories from Frot the World were translated by Noela Covelo Velasco.
Bodies careen through the streets, scorching their feet on the pavement and baring their hot souls. Set in a Barcelona both present and fantastical, true lovers and queer families form alliances as they shimmy through a crumbling labyrinth, pocketing trinkets, dodging recognition, and holding different ways of living up to the light. Together, they reach beyond apocalyptic temporalities, prising open the oyster of the State and getting it waterlogged with their words.
